I am the house, I said neemt de geschiedenis van de voormalige elektriciteitscentrale Onderstation P.G.E.M. (nu Omstand – Space for Contemporary Art) en zijn architectuur als uitgangspunt om na te denken over energiebronnen, energiedistributie en netwerken als te onderzoeken artistieke concepten. Energie komt vrij in verschillende vormen, als een dynamisch proces dat een netwerk aandrijft. Wat zijn de energiebronnen van artistieke productie en wat zijn de structuren en netwerken die ze ondersteunen, voorstaan en aandrijven? Verteld vanuit het perspectief van de voormalige elektriciteitscentrale, beschrijft I am the house, I said de aankomst van een fijnmazig glazen schip op aarde. Na een periode van non communicatie lijkt het schip contact te maken in de vorm van dromen, die het versteende geheugen van het huis aftappen voor antwoorden die je mee naar huis kan nemen, een stapel kledingstukken, tekeningen en andere verlaten voorwerpen achterlatend.

I am the house, I said, takes the history of the former power station Onderetation P.G.E.M. (now Omstand – Space for Contemporary Art) and its architecture as a starting point to reflect on energy sources, energy distribution and networks as artistic concepts to be explored. Energy is released in different forms, as a dynamic process that drives a network. What are the energy sources of artistic production and what are the structures and networks that support, advocate and drive them? Told from the perspective of the former power station, I am the house, I said, recounts the arrival of an intricate glass ship to earth. After a period of non-communication the ship appears to make contact in the shape of dreams, tapping the house’s stony memory for answers to take home, leaving a pile of garments, drawings and other derelict objects in its wake.
